A new design

After reviewing the cutter head I came to the conclusion this is not gone work.
And there is no way to update / upgrade the record cutter if you can not even upgrade the most important part and yes that is the cutter head!
So back to the design table and restart the idea, to one that makes more sense and also going to work.
The important thought in my mind is that everyone should be able to use the record cutter because the project is going to end up as a sales item.
So easy to use and fast to learn.

So out with the old design and in comes a new better cutter head.

For the needle I made a nice design which I saw on the internet, I made some improvements and the result is below:
The needle head has been ordered with the 3D print company that can print in all kinds of materials.
So made a 3D ready design upload it to the company and for now they will do my 3D printing until I have my own 3D printer.
Next time I hope to have my Sledge wagon ready to show. This is where we are going to attach the cutter head on to.

The Cutter Head

As this is an ongoing project, I have decided to make the record cutter a device which can be updated as technology and working ideas progress over time. I am also working using materials which are readily available this will keep costs low and make for an affordable end product.

The most important part of the project is the cutter head. If this is not working the whole project is not going to progress. After researching, I decided to go with a simple but effective cutter head design.
I started with the stereo cutter head, but I am also still debating about making a mono version but this will be a project for a later date!
Below you can see a couple of images of the work-in-progress cutter head.
